2008 CAMPS AND CLINICS

Lee (and Erinne):
I have been remiss in sending this but I did want to thank you for putting on a great camp in North Carolina this year - as you know, I am somewhat notorious for offering nebulous praise so rather than adding to my nefarious reputation I'll try to stay focused. I had a terrific time and appreciated all the effort you expended in making sure things ran smoothly. It takes a great deal of skill to modify schedules on the fly when weather changes or people's needs vary. I am not sure how you managed it but you always kept things moving and upbeat. Your personal coaching was also spot on and I was given a lot to mull over on the long drive back to Kingston.

You can tell your sponsors I am now hooked on Clif bars and Clif shots. I am also getting good use out of my fuel belt in the heat of the summer. (Alas, the stylish bodyzen socks and strength training DVD have been withheld from my grasp so far). Seriously, your camp was great value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I am off to Lake Placid this weekend and I know the lessons learned on the Valle Crucis climb will help me to get through.

I understand your first born has arrived safely. I wish you and Erinne my best wishes as your family grows. Say hi to Adam, Marco, Erik, and Frank for me if you should see them.

Yours,
David Bruce

Daily guided training excursions to the seaside and Castiglione della Pescaia (a fishing village with a striking castle), Grosseto, the enchanting towns of Montalcino (famous for its grape vineyards that produce the celebrated Brunello wine) and Santa Fiora, as well as a guided tour of Siena.

You will stay in the countryside of the Seggiano township (Province of Grosseto just a few kilometers from the border with the Province of Siena) - A charming storybook landscape of a lesser-known area that is considered by many Italians to be one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany. It's about 50 minutes away from the seaside, less than 1 hour South of Siena, about two hours from Florence, and two and a half hours north of Rome. At Villa Gaia, you will live with elegant Tuscan styled creature comforts, newly designed and renovated, amidst the rich fertile lands and countryside of perhaps the most beautiful, if we daresay such a thing, lesser known micro-region in Tuscany.

Each day will combine the best of culture and triathlon. This Tuscan training camp includes ideal terrain for cycling (imagine yourself cycling through Tuscany's famous vineyards), swimming in the Mediterranean sea and running along gorgeous country roads with expert professional multi-sport triathlon coaching every step of the way. Then, to top it off, there is the celebrated Tuscan Country cooking with lots of healthy pasta dishes, olive oil and red wines.
